On October 21, 2020, a Ship Naming ceremony for the HSL Chicago was jointly held in Japan at Tsuneshi Shipbuilder/shipyard and at Hudson’s HSL Monterrey, Mexico. Mrs. Mirna Elizabeth Gutiérrez González from HSL Mexico used the ceremonial silver axe to cut the rope as a Japanese custom for good luck and prosperity.
Mr. Avi Eilon thanked industry leader Tsuneshi Shipbuilding for their continued excellence as well as JA Mitsui Leasing for their companionship and continued support in this project.
HSL Chicago is one of seven in a series of vessels equipped with state-of-the-art technological tools and equipment to be delivered to Hudson starting in 2020 and continuing through 2021. It is a “HUD 64” type with lowest fuel consumption and emission in class, to meet the rigorous requirement of Hudson’s Clean & Green© initiative. On her maiden voyage, the vessel was used to carry Hudson’s sensitive commodities and utilized the unique SCM solutions to service the needs of all their customers on board.
Hudson brings companies, people, and the world closer together in a Clean & Green© environment.
