In January of 2013 Hudson Shipping Lines, Inc was honored to welcome the newly built MV Iolcos Commander into their fleet for her maiden voyage on the high seas. The MV Iolcos Commander is a beautiful new build, bulk carrying Panamax, which was completed in January of 2013. With her sea trials and testing completed, she was delivered into Hudson's fleet and set forth into trading on her maiden voyage.
The voyage began by sailing from Shanghai to Western Australia to load in Geraldton for delivery to the Continent. While at the load port, Captain Igor Shostal and his crew were shown a warm welcome and presented with a plaque from the Geraldton Port Authority to commemorate her maiden voyage.
From Western Australia the vessel then sailed via the Cape of Good Hope to Rotterdam to discharge. Upon her arrival Rotterdam and the successful first leg of her many voyages to come, the vessel was presented with a plate of the city of Rotterdam by the Head of the Port Authority, representatives from the Stevedores and other distinguished guests. After discharging cargo in Rotterdam she proceeded to Germany to discharge and is currently steaming towards Italy to complete her maiden voyage.
Hudson feels very fortunate to be able to be a part of such a magnificent vessel’s maiden voyage. We at Hudson look forward to the remainder of the charter and the time we have working closely with Captain Igor Shostal and his beautiful vessel. Keep an eye out for the MV Iolcos Commander possibly coming soon to a port near you.
