Bringing The Supply Chain Full Circle

Normally when vessels are loaded at the grain berths of Geraldton, Western Australia, it is a combined effort of hundreds of growers from across Australia. However, this time is different. This time, the shipment is a special effort of nearly two dozen local Australian growers who banded together and negotiated a private sale of wheat to be exported to Southeast Asia. Hudson was quite pleased to welcome these local growers onboard the M/V Stargate while she was loading their precious cargo in Geraldton.

This marks the second year that this specific shipment has been accumulated and sent to the same customer. Growers were faced with challenges of climate and precipitation which adjusted the quality, but given the high standards and care taken in developing this crop, growers were able to secure high levels of quality that have come to be expected from Australian wheat.

During the growers' visit to the port (which can be seen below in the pictures), they were given a tour of the segregated space made available to them for storage of the special wheat grade, as well as the vessel and facility. As such, they were able to witness first-hand the wheat they had personally planted, grown, and harvested being loaded into the vessel and headed to its destination. The culmination of their combined efforts was once again successfully completed./p>
