As a global leader in maritime trade, Hudson knows that it is the common sailor who makes maritime trade function. Seafaring is not for the faint of heart, as sailors spend months at sea working to keep the world’s shipping fleet clean, efficient, and afloat.
As you can imagine any small comfort provided to those with such a difficult and critical profession is welcome, and so Hudson is delighted to be participating in RIDE LONDON 2016. RIDE LONDON is an event curated by the Sailors’ Society, an international charity that offers practical help, emotional support and family liaison for seafarers worldwide. In addition to their day to day efforts, the Sailors’ Society has also undertaken extensive relief efforts when sailors’ homes are devastated by natural disasters. Like Hudson, the Sailors’ Society understands that seafarers’ wellbeing is vitally important and Hudson is delighted to field a team of riders in support of the Society’s humanitarian efforts.
Team Hudson would welcome your donation as they push for the checkered flag on July 31st. If you would like to donate to the Sailors’ Society on behalf of Team Hudson, you can do so by electronic bank transfer or cheque as specified below.

The Sailors’ Society is an international charity that provides a personal lifeline for the world’s 1.5 million seafarers and their families, in port, at sea and at home. The charity offers practical help, emotional and spiritual support, financial assistance and family liaison.
Our port chaplains visit thousands of ships every year, directly addressing the needs of seafarers - irrespective of a person’s belief or nationality - as well as maintaining vital links within the Ports that they operate. They seek out seafarers’ families, ex-seafarers and seafarers in hospital or prison on shore and help wherever needed.
They provide:
• Means of communication – international SIM cards, access to Skype and email so that seafarers can contact their families and loved ones.
• Transport – to local amenities, shops or just a green space.
• Maps, port directories and currency to help seafarers find their feet in new places.
• Counselling and space to talk and listen.
• Relief from poverty – financial aid when times are hard, when seafarers find themselves stranded, out of work, or injured.
• A voice – mediation between the seafarer and the authorities and unions, flagging up concerns so that a troubled seafarer is not overlooked.
All funds raised from the Challenge will help us to sustain our vital services and continue to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support for seafarers worldwide.
Last year our supporters helped us to…..
