On track to outpace our 2011 numbers, in October, Hudson Shipping Lines has already completed their 300th vessel voyage for the calendar year 2012, showing no signs of slowing down. Released today after the completion of one of their weekly meetings, Hudson executives were happy to report the early arrival of this yearly milestone. "Before too long we may have to increase our goals out to 400 voyages per year," said one executive.
The growth comes as a result of some new techniques pioneered by Hudson, coupled with their more balanced approach to supply chain management. "Growth is always at the forefront of our discussions. How can we continue to do it better than the competition? What methods need updating? Where can we be proactive in our approach to a centuries-old profession?" These questions and more help to lay the groundwork for innovative ideas because there are no easy answers.
Last year, Hudson operated just over 300 vessels for the year, which was up a fair bit from our 2010 operations. With the arrival of the 300 milestone in October, the projection for 2012 is trending upward, which will roll into a nice beginning to 2013.
