An Afternoon with Skuld

Hudson Shipping recently invited representatives from Skuld's P&I Club to its U.S. offices to lecture about the finer points of maritime insurance and law.

The lecture focused on the potential benefits and problems that can occur due to ship slow steaming and deviation, from the perspective of a P&I club or lawyer. During the discussion, the Skuld representatives demonstrated many different ways that issues may arise, including those in time charter and voyage charter scenarios. They also looked at each scenario from an owner's standpoint and from a charterer's standpoint, and explained the effects that certain decisions can have on each party in a charter, from shipper or receiver to the head owners. Skuld's representatives also introduced their newest service, Charterers' Cover, that aims to provide maritime insurance for a charterers' interests and risks on each voyage or time charter.
